Animal Lifeline of Iowa (ALI) is Central Iowa’s only special needs, no-kill animal shelter, celebrating nearly 35 years of serving the Des Moines area and all of Iowa. They rescue cats and dogs that are injured, handicapped, have a serious medical conditions, abused, pregnant and nursing moms, or orphans that require bottle feeding. They also work to rehabilitate the animals who run a higher risk of euthanasia in a traditional shelter setting, and then adopt them into loving forever homes. Their ultimate goal is to reduce the number of special needs dogs and cats that are euthanized by providing care, temporary shelter, and by promoting positive long-term pet guardianship. Animals are never euthanized because they have been at the shelter for a certain length of time and Animal Lifeline of Iowa spays/neuters every animal in their care, in an effort to help control the community’s pet overpopulation.

But they need your help! With your donation, they will be able to provide critical and necessary care to animals within their care, in order to increase their chances of adoption into a loving and stable home environment. Not able to donate, ALI would love to work with hands-on volunteers as well! You can visit www.animal-lifeline.com/volunteer for more information.

As a reminder, Greater Iowa Credit Union has committed to donating $250 in guaranteed funds to the Animal Lifeline of Iowa ANE will be matching up to an additional $250 in donations! Every donation will help, no matter how small!

Donations accepted until December 31, 2019.
